In spring, MG revealed the Mulan. For Europe, it adopts the simple name MG4 to reflect its position in the lineup. Because it is a compact electric vehicle, smaller than the MG5 station wagon. At 4.29 meters, it fits into the segment of Renault Mégane E-Tech or Volkswagen ID.3.
Like the station wagon or the ZS EV, the MG4 electric offers two different versions. The first features a 51 kWh LFP battery and a 170 hp (125 kW) motor, while the second has a 64 kWh NMC battery and a 204 hp (150 kW) motor. The range thus varies between 350 and 450 kilometers on a full charge.
The MG4 under €30,000!
Pre-orders for the MG4 have already begun. They do not require a deposit and serve only for the brand to establish contact and note which versions generate interest. Additionally, the first 500 customers will receive a home charging cable (€268 value) and €300 in free charging credits.
The manufacturer does not disclose prices by version. However, a starting price below €30,000 is advertised, excluding bonus and purchase aid. This applies to the base model with a 51 kWh battery. The MG4 is thus priced about €7,200 less than the Mégane electric (EV40 balance), and €5,150 less than the Nissan Leaf (Acenta 40 kWh). It is even cheaper than a Renault ZOE, which starts at €33,700.
The first deliveries of the MG4 electric are expected this fall, with no further details provided.
