MG provokes Macron with its MG4 at €99 per month

While the government is delaying on its promise of a €100/month electric car, the Chinese manufacturer proves it can do it.

Lack of familiarity with the automotive market is a thorn in the side of the French government, caught in a trap with cars produced in China while traditional European automakers are currently unable to lower their prices. The €100 electric car is a very promising gain in purchasing power because the operating costs (cheaper electricity than fuel, reduced maintenance, etc.) are much lower.

The offer of a car for less than €100/month, as promised in his campaign program by Emmanuel Macron, is already a reality. Dacia and today MG have already entered the market. “Mr. President, we keep your promises” or “Some make promises, others keep them“.

The slogans adopted by MG to promote its €99/month offer without down payment for its MG4 are bold but effective. And so be it if this accelerates Macron’s anger, who wishes to introduce an European toll for electric cars produced outside the continent to establish a certain protectionism. Without this, the European industry could indeed be swept away by a tsunami from Asia or the United States.

Of course, this Long-Term Rental (LTD) offer of 24 months valid until August 31, 2023, is not for all French customers, but only for low-income individuals meeting certain conditions: being an individual whose tax reference income per share is less than or equal to €14,089.

The car is a MG4 Standard with the 51 kWh battery (350 km range in WLTP mixed cycle) and no options. You can configure and assess the equipment of the car via their configurator here. Finally, mileage is limited to 20,000 kilometers, or 10,000 km annually.

No personal deposit is required as the first rent is reduced to €0 after applying the ecological bonus of €7,000 and the €2,500 conversion premium deducted under the condition of scrapping a diesel vehicle put into circulation before 2011 or a gasoline vehicle before 2006.
