The Concept CLA is a preview of the new family of models built on the all-new “Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture” (MMA) platform. It marks the next step in Mercedes-Benz’s electric future.
Equipped with a next-generation electric powertrain directly derived from the revolutionary VISION EQXX program, this CLA aims to be the “1-liter car” of the future. This automotive industry pipe dream aimed to develop a mass-market model consuming just 1 liter of fossil fuel per 100 km. A highly optimistic vision of the automotive future that has not survived the realities of today… at least in the thermal era. However, the emerging electric era could achieve these efficiency goals in terms of petrol equivalent / kWh. Indeed, with a range of over 750 kilometers WLTP and a consumption of around 12 kWh/100 km, the CLA approaches this once-unattainable peak.
