Mercedes GLB: the most versatile SUV with the star?

Comment
Mercedes GLB

The new generation of electric GLB expands the family offer of Mercedes by focusing on space and versatile everyday uses.

The new electric GLB marks a strategic step for Mercedes-Benz in the compact SUV segment. Designed from the outset for family and versatile use, it positions itself as an electric alternative to traditional thermal SUVs while maintaining dimensions suitable for urban use. Available in five or seven-seat versions, it addresses the growing demand for electric vehicles that can adapt to varied uses, from commuting to long journeys.

Two electric versions are announced for commercial launch in spring 2026. The GLB 250+ develops a power of 200 kW and claims up to 631 kilometers of range according to the WLTP cycle. The GLB 350 4MATIC version, more performance-oriented, reaches 260 kW and includes all-wheel drive. Both models are equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a usable capacity of 85 kWh and an 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing for rapid charging: up to 260 kilometers of range recovered in about ten minutes under optimal conditions.

The Advantage of 7 Seats

Interior space has improved compared to the previous generation. The higher roof position, combined with a standard panoramic roof, enhances headroom in the first two rows. The second row benefits from increased legroom and revised seating. The practical aspect is reinforced by the presence of a front trunk of 127 liters, a rarity in this category, and by a rear trunk volume that can reach over 1,700 liters once the seats are folded down.

On the technological side, the model introduces a new digital environment based on the MB.OS operating system. The latest generation MBUX interface revolves around a large central screen, with navigation features based on Google Maps and a voice assistant enhanced by artificial intelligence. Driving aids are grouped under the name MB.DRIVE, with an extensive array of sensors and cameras.
