A Fully Electric Camper Van
This electric recreational vehicle uses the long-wheelbase version of the microvan. As a reminder, the EQT is based on the Renault Kangoo, which already has a utility version called Citan. Gasoline-powered, this product also comes in an electric version called EQT (eCitan for utility). Mercedes-Benz chose to use this variant for its prototype, embodying a more nature-conscious and environmentally friendly approach.
Spacious inside, the Mercedes EQT Marco Polo can even sleep on a platform measuring 2 x 1.15 meters. Down below, everything is designed to be independent for two: an integrated shower, a 16-liter fridge, a dining table, a kitchenette with a sink and stove, and a roof that extends upward so you don’t have to live hunched over. This same roof features solar panels to power the equipment via a removable battery.
Mercedes EQT, the Electric Microvan Announces Its Prices
Taking advantage of the occasion, the German brand provides some information about its electric microvan. It features the same 90 kW (122 hp) motor and 45 kWh battery as the Kangoo, with an estimated range of about 285 km. Orders for the Mercedes EQT 200 will not start immediately, but the price is expected to start around €50,000. The standard length of 4.50 meters will be the focus initially, followed by a long version in late 2023.
For those who do not want the full “Marco Polo” package, the EQT will offer modular components for travel. Everything is designed to be almost invisible on a daily basis, as the modules are removable in less than 5 minutes. The vehicle can therefore return to a regular car for commuting and carry 3 children in the back during the week.
As for the EQT Marco Polo, it will be available in the second half of 2023, with an unknown price. A version called EQV is not yet scheduled, despite a teaser released earlier in 2022.
