Mercedes EQS: Doesn’t anything strike you as odd in this photo?

The star brand has revealed an evolution of its electric limousine EQS. And a detail referencing the brand’s beginnings makes a comeback.

In a world where benchmarks are lost, and new players join the discussions daily, sometimes it is necessary to reaffirm oneself. And a Mercedes is a Mercedes, not an obscure Asian smartphone brand.

From there, the German company made a decision: to reaffirm its badge, the star, by once again displaying it on the hood of its most prestigious models. The new evolution of the electric flagship EQS reintroduces this prestigious emblem that is both elegant and discreet. Much less ostentatious than the huge “plate” previously used.

Mercedes EQS, a tool for democratization

The EQS is therefore back with numerous updates, which remind us of the purpose of this almost 150,000-euro elitist model: to introduce solutions that will later spill over to the rest of the Mercedes lineup. Far from being a detail, the range has notably increased by 82 kilometers!

The Mercedes EQS already ranked among the most autonomous sedans worldwide. With a battery capacity rising from 108 to 118 kWh, the EQS 450+ version now exceeds 800 real-world kilometers of range. The range is also enhanced by increased regenerative braking.

Inside, comfort, already outstanding, is even greater. While the best seats are at the back, the driver can still enjoy the world’s largest screen, a 141-centimeter-wide LCD panel.

Mercedes is once again targeting the ultra-luxury universe, which is an excellent idea to stand out from Asian rivals who will always offer lower prices.
