Max-Out Concept, Nissan’s astonishing electric convertible

Around an event that will partly focus on battery vehicles, the manufacturer Nissan unveils a new electric convertible concept.

The Nissan Max-Out Concept made its first appearance in November 2021, but at that time, it was a purely virtual project, existing only as illustrations. Moving from virtual to real does not necessarily mean it will reach the market. On the contrary, this concept seems too extravagant to ever join the Japanese company’s catalog. However, it provides indications about the aesthetic directions of future Nissan. More generally, this electric convertible embodies a philosophy where the driver would be one with the car (according to Nissan).

The work on the lighting gives the Max-Out a science-fiction vehicle look. The slightly curved waistline adds a sense of dynamism to what is otherwise a quite classic silhouette. The few images of the interior show a dashboard topped with a panoramic screen.

A Nissan Max-Out that keeps some secrets

The Max-Out is presented as an electric vehicle, but Nissan provides no technical specifications. Therefore, it is impossible to know the power, performance, battery capacity, or the car’s range. Faced with this lack of data, one cannot help but think that the vehicle may simply not be powered at all.

The presentation of this concept comes at a time when Nissan is experiencing a turbulent period and is trying to find a new balance within the Alliance with Renault. Negotiations between the two partners are already well advanced. Renault and Nissan have agreed on a cross-shareholding of equal parts (namely 15%). As a result, Renault will have to part with some of its shares in Nissan.
