Lucid Motors Targets Europe with an Air Priced Over 200,000 Euros

Lucid Motors Launches Its Expansion in Europe. The manufacturer will market the Air there, a powerful electric sedan rivaling the Tesla Model S.

Initially, Lucid Motors has decided to focus on Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Norway. France will have to wait a little longer. Without specifically mentioning France, Lucid has promised to target other key markets in Europe soon.

By the end of the year, Lucid Motors will open several showrooms in the four concerned countries. The first was inaugurated on May 13 in Germany, in the city of Munich.

For an Exclusive Wealthy Clientele

Don’t expect Lucid to democratize electric vehicles in Europe. The manufacturer has chosen to only offer the high-end versions of the Air, a model already expensive in its basic configuration. As a result, the price easily exceeds €200,000. For example, in Germany, you will need to pay €218,000 to purchase one.

900 km Range

The lineup includes two versions sold at the same price. Capable of traveling about 900 km between charges, the Dream Edition Range offers the best range. Already powerful with its 933 hp motorization, it is complemented by a Dream Edition Performance with a peak power of 1111 hp. While the torque (1390 Nm) and top speed (270 km/h) remain the same across models, the Performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds compared to 2.9 seconds for the standard. Both versions feature all-wheel drive and can support very high charging powers thanks to their 924-volt system.

The first customers will be served before the end of the year. Subsequently, more affordable versions will be added to the lineup. According to Lucid, the entry-level will cost around €100,000.
