Cadillac’s newest electric model shines in European safety tests amid tightening requirements.

The new Cadillac OPTIQ, a compact electric SUV from the American manufacturer, has just received the highest rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP safety tests. A distinction expected for a premium vehicle, but which retains all its weight given the recent tightening of evaluation criteria in the European program.

Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) praised the vehicle for “excellent overall protection performance in a crash” and “good equipment of accident avoidance technologies.” The Cadillac OPTIQ stood out particularly for its protection of adult and child occupants, ranking among the safest models in its category.

A Cadillac That Goes the Extra Mile

Tests highlighted the sturdiness of the cabin in frontal impacts, resistance to side collisions, as well as the quality of active safety features. Among these are a highly effective autonomous emergency braking system for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, on-board motion detection, and the hands-free driving assistance system Super Cruise, offered as standard on all versions from 2026 onward.

This result confirms Cadillac’s strategy to adapt its electric models to the strictest European standards. In a segment where competition is intensifying, this recognition allows the OPTIQ to position itself as a benchmark in safety and technology.
