Leapmotor reveals its pricing in France with some surprises
For some, a Chinese Trojan horse; for others, European opportunism, the arrival of Leapmotor in France continues to generate discussion.
Operated by Stellantis at a 51/49% stake, this strategic partnership aims to develop the sales of Leapmotor creations at affordable prices worldwide, except of course for China. To achieve this, Stellantis provides its ally with its locations and commercial know-how.
Leveraging Stellantis’ distribution channels, the number of Leapmotor sales points in Europe will increase from 350 at the end of 2024 to 500 by 2026. Additionally, there are plans to launch one model per year over the next three years. The first seven European markets involved are Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Starting in the 4th quarter of 2024, commercial operations will expand to Africa (Turkey, Israel, and French overseas territories), the Asia-Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia), and South America (Brazil and Chile).
Timid Approach
Leapmotor’s European offensive begins with two complementary 100% electric models, the C10 SUV and the 4-door compact T03. While the T03 is already well-known in Europe with its 95 hp and 265 km WLTP range, the C10 is somewhat less familiar. With a length of 4,739 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,680 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,825 mm, it offers a trunk capacity of 435 liters, expanding to 1,410 liters with the rear seats folded down. A nice little feature is that with both the front and rear seats fully folded down, the C10 can transform into a double bed measuring 1.8 meters long and 1.2 meters wide. Equipped with a 160 kW (218 hp) motor, the C10 includes a 69.9 kWh battery pack ensuring a range of 420 km on the WLTP cycle. Nothing groundbreaking, and its price is not in the low-cost category, starting at 36,400 euros, with a launch offer of 34,900 euros for the first customers. The comparison with the slightly more expensive Tesla Model Y does not favor our Chinese competitor.

The Leapmotor T03 is available from 19,500 euros, with a launch offer of 18,900 euros. The vehicle is expected to soon qualify for an ecological bonus of 4,000 euros, which makes it truly interesting! The T03 will also be available for long-term leasing, starting at 79 euros. Ultimately, this is the big winner of this presentation, and honestly, it’s not the one we were expecting.
