The Leapmotor T03 slashed to 89 euros per month, even without a bonus
This page is translated from the original post "La Leapmotor T03 bradée à 89 euros par mois, même sans bonus" in French.

At such a price, one wonders how Leapmotor manages to make a margin on the sale of a car…
First of all, it should be noted that this Leapmotor T03 is not a new model but rather a car well established in China, which Stellantis merely assembles using an existing stock of parts. We tested it exclusively in October 2022! It was even briefly sold at Eve France, which had obtained the rights to distribute the electric vehicle in France. Priced at 25,990 euros, the T03 came down to 20,990 euros after deducting the bonus, or even 18,990 euros for those who could benefit from the super bonus of 7,000 euros. A golden age when identity papers of an electric car weren’t scrutinized to grant a nice bonus. At that price, it positioned itself as one of the most affordable electric cars on the market.
18 months later, here it is distributed by the giant Stellantis, which inevitably changes the game. The little Chinese car is assembled in Stellantis’ Polish factory in Tychy. Assembled, but not produced, which makes all the difference because it deprives it of ecological bonuses. At least this allows circumventing customs fees. In the end, a well-finished car with a cute face under the 20,000 euros mark, making it the cheapest electric car on the market.
In a word, reasonable
So, inevitably, one shouldn’t also expect anything exceptional under the hood. The Leapmotor T03 is a very basic electric city car offering a range of 265 km according to the WLTP cycle and 390 km in urban cycle. Equipped with a 36 kWh battery, it has a 95 horsepower (70 kW) motor. Fast charging is quite modest but has the merit of allowing the battery to be charged to 80% in 36 minutes.
The T03 is now offered starting at 17,900 euros or 89 euros per month with a down payment of 3,000 euros, as part of financing over 3 years with a limit of 30,000 km. Nothing to complain about, it’s more than reasonable and it’s ultimately a rather reassuring purchase as Leapmotor plans to develop a network of 100 sales points in France by the end of February.
