In red, the Nissan Micra finally looks awesome!

Clone of the Renault 5 from which it borrows the entire technical specification, the Nissan Micra is set to hit Europe.

It won’t have the Renault logo, but it will be just like it. Yes, the Nissan Micra is nothing more than an R5, and even its production will be Made in France. At the Douai plant, on the same production line as its cousin.

But the two products need to be distinguished. The Renault has a design fully riding on nostalgia, while the Nissan features a more Japanese manga look with round front and rear lights. Then the colors come into play, and the Micra seems to be glossy on this point.

The Nissan Micra and the red card!

While the Renault 5 has to settle for divisive shades (apple green, baby yellow) or very classic (navy blue, black, white), the Nissan Micra has based its launch communication on electric blue.

But while we are still waiting for the opening of orders in Europe – which is imminent – markets like the UK have already unveiled their prices and an additional color: red.

While in blue it looked like a Japanese appliance ready to toast your bread, the Micra seemed destined for a discreet career. The kind of car that does the job, but nobody sets as their computer wallpaper.

And then, Nissan seems to have had a brilliant idea: what if we painted it red? Not a timid red, not a Bordeaux of a company car, no: a bold, vibrant, almost cheeky red. Some would say Italian. And then, a miracle!

Its curves gain confidence, its round headlights become cheeky, its lines gain dynamism, so much so that passersby will turn their heads as it passes by.

Indeed, in the automotive world, red is not just a color: it’s an extreme makeover, a glamour filter, and sometimes… a magic wand.
