That promises insane acceleration for a 5-seater family hatchback, equipped with a large trunk and a commanding presence. Electronic suspension, steering, all-wheel drive, aerodynamic kit (+50 mm in width, +80 mm in length), wider tires (275/35R21 Pirelli P-Zero), everything has been designed to boost this Ioniq 5. Under standard conditions, this Hyundai will deliver 610 hp, but when the N Grin Boost (NGB) mode is activated, the peak power will reach 650 hp as mentioned earlier, for a duration of 10 seconds. This should normally allow reaching 200 km/h. Enough to have fun and experience sensational sensations… without emitting CO2. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is dispatched in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed limited to 260 km/h.
Two other modes—Drag and Track—will manage the battery temperature to extract maximum energy, either over a very short period or across multiple laps. The 84 kWh battery won’t be lacking for blending fun and range. Luckily, Hyundai’s 800-volt technology in the Ioniq 5N accepts charging up to 350 kW (yes, you read that correctly), which is not yet available on the streets today. Otherwise, 80% recharge would only take 18 minutes!
Finally, the weight of 2,235 kg should prevent the Korean from becoming a ballerina on circuits and winding roads, even if electric power and XXL performance work wonders nowadays in terms of dynamism.
In France, the decision to commercialize it has not yet been publicly announced.
