The Hippie Caviar Motel was developed on the long version (L2) of the Kangoo. It is described as a “true mobile refuge, flexible and dynamic for adventurers and sports enthusiasts craving open spaces and sensations”. But with a range of 285 km, it remains somewhat unsuitable for long-distance travel. Like the standard electric Kangoo, it features a 45 kWh battery that accepts up to 80 kW on DC fast chargers. The 120 hp electric motor is also borrowed from the standard Kangoo.
Regarding special equipment, Renault installed rails on the panoramic roof for ski transport. The Kangoo Hippie Caviar Motel also has several additional storage compartments, as well as a bench that can be transformed into a bed. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not released photos of the interior at this stage.
This showcar follows a Hippie Caviar Hotel Trafic, which subsequently led to a series-produced camper van. It is therefore not impossible that the new model might also reach the market, in a somewhat toned-down form and not necessarily with an electric motor.

The market for camper vans is gradually but surely beginning to turn towards electric. A trend that is not surprising, since most utility vehicles used as the base are offered in electric versions.
