Here is the Audi Q6 e-tron, a Porsche Macan with rings?

A few weeks after the Porsche Macan, the Audi Q6 e-tron makes its debut with an intelligent sharing of its electric technology.

Everyone to themselves and everything is fine that way. After all, a restaurant customer doesn’t necessarily need to know what happens in the kitchen. Thus, when reading the official presentation information of the new Audi Q6 e-tron, there is no mention of the technological synergy (though flattering) with Porsche and its electric Macan.

No big surprises therefore regarding the technical sheet of this very aesthetic – more than the Macan we might be tempted to say, but aesthetics are subjective – Audi Q6 e-tron. It marks a significant leap forward in electric technology within the German manufacturer’s range. Range is clearly no longer a debate with all models exceeding 600 km, and charging powers (up to 270 KW) surpassing network capabilities.

A Very Particular Positioning

Factually, the Audi Q6 and Porsche Macan share the same platform, as well as the same mechanical components. The battery offers two identical sizes: 95 kWh net or 77 kWh net. In both cases, the Q6 e-tron can recover 255 km of range in 10 minutes of charging under the same conditions, and from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes.

The range in mixed cycle is thus 625 km for the most frugal version. AC charging is standard at 11 kW and optional up to 22 kW (later). Finally, at the front, an additional 64-liter trunk is added to the 526 liters in the rear. Just like the Porsche Macan.

But to distinguish itself from the Porsche Macan, the Q6 e-tron displays different power ratings: 285 kW (387 hp) and 380 kW (516 hp) in the sporty SQ6 e-tron version, whereas the Macan 4 and Turbo claim respectively 300 kW (408 hp) and 470 kW (639 hp).

The Q6 e-tron accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and the SQ6 e-tron in 4.3 seconds, compared to 5.2 and 3.3 seconds respectively for the Stuttgart cousins.

For the rest, the highly digitalized interior remains true to Audi’s style.

The Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron will be available for order from March 27, 2024, at prices of €83,450 and €99,870, respectively, with deliveries to customers expected in summer 2024.
