Ford teases its extreme electric pickup

After the SuperVan 4.2, which finished second in 2023, Ford and Romain Dumas return to Pikes Peak with the electric SuperTruck F-150 Lightning.

Ford is a faithful participant in the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, or “The Race to the Clouds,” which is rightly considered one of the most intense racing events in the world. The event takes place in Colorado and consists of a 19.93 km ascent featuring no less than 156 turns. Competitors start from the starting line located at an altitude of 2,865 meters and complete the effort 1,440 meters higher, after navigating a course bordered by 600-meter-deep ravines, mostly without guardrails…

More than 1500 horsepower for the 150?

To tackle Pikes Peak, Ford has chosen this year to showcase its electric F-150 pickup with a version that is expected to be significantly modified by Ford Performance. While no data has been released by the American company, one can expect extreme power levels, similar to the aerodynamics. In the latest images and video provided by Ford, an oversized rear wing and an imposing rear diffuser can be glimpsed.

The electric F-150 will logically carry the number… 150. Currently, Ford has not specified either the category in which the F-150 Lightning “Electric Demonstrator” will compete or the date of its official presentation. However, answers will come before the testing, which will begin on June 18, prior to the event scheduled for Sunday, June 23.
