This Is the First Electric Ferrari!

Ferrari unveils the technical platform of its first 100% electric car, the Ferrari Elettrica.

For now, it is only the chassis and components, but the message is clear. This future model is designed to combine driving pleasure and everyday comfort, while remaining definitively Ferrari. The advanced driving position and reduced overhangs hint at a dynamic SUV, true to the Maranello DNA.

Under the hood, the technology benefits from the expertise of the Italian manufacturer’s F1 division. Although the architecture features all-wheel drive, the philosophy primarily favors rear-wheel drive with 210 kW on the front axle and 620 kW on the rear axle. The motors spin up to 30,000 rpm at the front and 25,500 rpm at the rear, while integrated inverters deliver a combined output of over 900 kW for a weight under 200 kg.

Ferrari will not forsake its exclusive philosophy

The battery, integrated into the floor, has a gross capacity of 122 kWh, an energy density of 195 Wh/kg, and allows rapid charging at 350 kW. The 210 cells are spread across 15 modules, optimizing the center of gravity and mass distribution (47 % front / 53 % rear). This is essential, as such a battery pack results in significant weight, with a total weight of around 2,300 kg. With a wheelbase of 2,960 mm, the Elettrica nevertheless promises stability and agility, according to Ferrari.

In terms of performance, Ferrari announces 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 s, a top speed of 310 km/h, and a range exceeding 530 km, with rapid charging at 350 kW. The elastic rear sub-chassis and active 48 V suspension guarantee comfort and precision, while the torque vectoring on all four wheels optimizes traction and maneuverability.

The Elettrica does not aim for records; it embodies the Ferrari experience, true to the Prancing Horse, while crossing into the 100% electric era. Whether its clientele will follow remains to be seen, but that is another story.
