Maxus Offers Its Electric Pickup in France

18 months after its launch in Great Britain, the fully electric Maxus T90EV pickup finally arrives in France.
Sixth largest automaker worldwide, the Chinese group SAIC, which owns MG among other brands, is also present in Europe with Maxus. Founded following the acquisition of the British manufacturer LDV Group, this brand mainly focuses on utility vehicles and derived models. It is already established in Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, and England.

Maxus arrived on the Old Continent with a mostly electric van lineup. Over time, the Chinese manufacturer’s range has expanded and diversified. It introduces a new fully electric pickup in France, the T90EV.
Large Electric Utility Vehicle
Measuring 5.4 meters long, the vehicle appears very, very, but truly very traditional. Its lines are the complete opposite of what Chinese manufacturers have been known for in recent months, but it cannot forget that it is a utility vehicle, and above all, a model that is over 2 years old! We can at least acknowledge that the overall design exudes seriousness and robustness.

The dashboard features a decent 10.25-inch touchscreen. Standard equipment includes electrically adjustable seats, air conditioning, a rearview camera, and artificial leather upholstery. 17-inch wheels complete the standard package.
330 km Range for the Maxus
The Chinese pickup is powered by an electric motor of 130 kW (177 hp). Equipped with an 88.5 kWh battery, it claims a range of 330 km in the WLTP cycle, but a high-performance regenerative braking system allows the manufacturer to push the range to 471 km in city driving… That’s very optimistic, and it has no urban focus anyway. On a fast charger, the T90EV can accept up to 80 kW of current, allowing it to recharge from 20% to 80% in about 45 minutes.

Coated with a rugged finish, its bed measures a generous 1,485 mm by 1,510 mm with a tailgate height of 530 mm. Its payload and towing capacity peak at 1,000 kg. In this aspect, the T90EV is well surpassed by the Ford F-150 Lightning, which can reach over 4.5 tons. The American pickup is probably aided in this comparison by its power, which peaks at 588 hp, much higher than that of the T90EV.
The Maxus T90EV pickup will be offered in France from 59,880 euros. It comes with a 5-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.
