Peugeot e-2008 with a different body style, the Opel Mokka suffers from a lack of recognition but not a lack of qualities. Definitely worth a look!

The turnaround of Opel since its acquisition by the PSA group – which later became Stellantis following the merger with FIAT-Chrysler – is spectacular. All the industrial logic and economies of scale are working at full throttle. To put it simply, Opel, Peugeot, Citroën, DS, and Fiat are now mostly the same cars but with different presentations. The components are shared, not the brand territories. Much like in fashion, and it’s very clever.

Once a brand on the brink of bankruptcy, Opel now shows a vibrancy that’s a pleasure to see. The most surprising part is that a large part of the solution has come through style. A very modern and understated design at the same time, whereas the old German models were frankly outdated. All of that is history now.

Building a brand image and a network of dealerships, however, takes years. That’s why the Opel Mokka still flies under the radar, even though its qualities are exactly those of the Peugeot e-2008, DS3 E-Tense, or the new Fiat 600.
