The front part, front doors, mirror shells, lighting units, and bumpers are the only parts retained from the Tesla Model 3. Everything else was modified to better suit the vehicle’s new role. The roof was aerodynamically extended. This transforms the sedan into a huge station wagon with massive glass surfaces and a custom tailgate. The Tesla 3 hearse features two additional half-doors providing access to extra storage compartments.
Inside, the company has added a partition with a window. There are also electric curtains on the side and rear windows for more privacy. A very cool optional feature is the starry sky illustrated on the roof, with LEDs of different colors that match the illuminated side panels. Other options include extendable stainless steel flower supports and a drawer under the floor for a scissors cart or care cases.
Heavier and more consuming
The Tesla 3 hearse is based on a Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus. It is equipped with an electric motor mounted at the rear producing 225 kW and a floor-mounted 72 kWh battery. The electric sedan claims an autonomy of 491 km. The extra weight results in lower estimated ranges between 350 and 375 km. Nevertheless, it is more than sufficient to take you to the cemetery without needing to stop for recharging.
Derks Uitvaartmobiliteit has not disclosed the price of the Tesla 3 hearse. The base Model 3 costs 51,990 euros in the Netherlands. Given the significant modifications made during the conversion, the model presented here will not be cheap.
