Citroën My Ami Play

This accessory will be included as standard on most Citroën AMI models.

Citroën is brainstorming to keep the AMI in the spotlight. A few days after unveiling the Tonic version, the manufacturer is back with a new accessory: the Citroën Switch.

Since the AMI does not have a touchscreen, the driver must necessarily use their phone if they want to listen to music or use a navigation system. Now, the Citroën Switch will help make their life easier.

What exactly is it? A button on the steering wheel that allows the driver to remotely launch the “My Ami Play” page of the “MyCitroën” mobile app. This app contains four sections: Nav for navigation, Call for calls, Media for music, and Radio. The driver can add their preferred applications into each section.

The button operates on a flat battery and connects to the phone via Bluetooth.

This accessory can be installed on either the right or left side of the steering wheel. It will come as standard on the Colour, Pop, and Tonic versions.

The My Ami Play can also be ordered through the Citroën network or on mister-auto.com. It costs €49.90.

What is the status of the Citroën AMI?

With the AMI, Citroën attempted a bold gamble, and it is doing quite well on the commercial front. Thanks to this model, the double-chevron brand has quickly become a key player in the no-license vehicle market. With 3,576 units sold from January to August 2022 (AAA Data figures), Citroën ranks second among car manufacturers in France, behind Aixam but ahead of Ligier, Microcar, and Chatenet.

The AMI is sold in several European countries, as well as in Turkey and Morocco. In July, Citroën announced that it had recorded a little over 23,000 orders across all markets where the car is sold.
