BYD: Three New Releases at the Auto World Show, and a Surprise!
This page is translated from the original post "BYD : trois nouveautés au Mondial de l’Auto, et une surprise !" in French.

BYD’s booth stole the show at the Auto World Congress with three debut electric cars on the market, as well as a surprise sedan, the “Seal”.
The Chinese manufacturer arrived in a big way at the Auto World Congress. For its visit to Paris, BYD built a large stand, rivaling the major French brands. The occasion was to showcase its entry into Europe and its first models.
Three electric models for a launch
BYD certainly doesn’t do things halfway. Michael Shu, General Manager of BYD Europe operations, introduced the three electric cars this Monday, October 17. Earlier this summer, the brand confirmed their identities and features. We were able to see in person the BYD Atto 3, a 4.40-meter SUV, priced at around €38,000. It will compete with other Chinese models like the MG ZS EV and Seres 3. With a classic exterior, it’s more distinctive inside, and does not disappoint in perceived quality.

The large BYD Han sedan is even more impressive in presentation. Its smooth design and luxurious interior make a strong impression, as does the very spacious trunk (though without a double bottom). The large SUV BYD Tang, also available as a hybrid in Norway, is now only available in a 100% electric version, around €72,000, similar to the sedan.

A surprise BYD Seal sedan
In addition to the three models in the initial lineup, a fourth appeared on the stand. The BYD Seal is an electric sedan measuring 4.80 meters, similar in size to a Tesla Model 3. Just launched in China, this model offers between 550 and 700 km range (Chinese cycle) and fast charging between 110 and 150 kW depending on the version. Its starting price of 209,800 yuan is less than €30,000. However, it is present mainly to showcase the probable evolution of the catalogue, without a specific release date.

The first BYD models arrive at BYmyCAR
Distribution will be through partners. The very first BYD cars will not arrive at a BYD dealership but through the expert BYmyCAR (Cosmobilis), which already operates 90 locations in France. The first BYD showroom opened this week in Paris, on Rue de Rivoli, with a second opening planned this winter.
