BYD has produced its 9 millionth electrified vehicle!

And what better way to celebrate this new milestone than with a BYD Yangwang U9, the exceptional 100% electric Supercar.

On September 25th, BYD celebrated its nine millionth electrified vehicle rolled off the production line at its ultra-modern Shenshan facility in China. A BYD Yangwang U9, a stark contrast to the eight millionth which was a BYD Dolphin built in Thailand just… 2 months ago. Yes, BYD has built one million vehicles in 60 days! At the current pace, it is certain that we will see the ten millionth in 2024, and who knows, maybe even the eleven millionth.

The star of the day, dressed in a beautiful cabernet red that would not have displeased an Italian brand with a prancing horse, will be sold for the benefit of a charitable organization, certainly well beyond its catalog price of 1.68 million yuan, or 215,000 Euros. This supercar of all superlatives is equipped with four electric motors, each with a power output of 240 kW, for a combined total of 960 kW, or 1,200 horsepower. It delivers a maximum torque of 1,680 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds, and can cover 400 meters from a standstill in 9.78 seconds. Its top speed is certified at 309 km/h, but we already know it can do much better…

To truly understand the power of the Chinese manufacturer, it is worth noting that BYD produced its first electrified car, a F3DM. It then took 13 years to reach the one million mark in May 2021. It took just over 3 years to reach the nine million mark. In the meantime, the Chinese giant has also produced trucks, buses, and millions of batteries!
