BMW iX M60: the first BMW exceeding 1000 Nm is electric!
This page is translated from the original post "BMW iX M60 : la 1re BMW dépassant les 1000 Nm est électrique !" in French.

The first BMW to surpass 1000 Nm of torque is… 100% electric! And it’s a large SUV: the iX M60.
At odds with Mercedes Vision EQXX, a model of frugality, BMW takes advantage of CES, the international innovation fair, to launch a sporty version of its luxury electric SUV.
The BMW iX M60 replaces the iX xDrive50 with 523 hp and becomes the new flagship of BMW i’s electric vehicle lineup. Developed by the BMW M division, the iX M60 features specific suspension tuning that improves aerodynamics, but most notably a boosted power output.

Very powerful but also very consuming
The vehicle delivers up to 455 kW (619 hp) and 1015 Nm peak in Sport mode, even reaching 1100 Nm from a standstill with Launch Control. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, making it as quick as a high-performance sports car like the Mercedes AMG GT. Its top speed is limited to “only” 250 km/h. Between accelerations, its nominal power is “only” 397 kW (540 hp).
In WLTP standard testing, its consumption does not exceed that of the iX xDrive50, ranging between 21.7 and 24.7 kWh/100 km. With a useful battery capacity of 106.3 kWh, it offers a WLTP range of 566 km. By way of comparison, the luxury Mercedes EQS offers 784 km with its 107.8 kWh battery and 523 hp. The iX M60 is therefore a big consumer.

Ready for Level 3 autonomous driving and 5G
The new SUV introduces a new generation of sensors, new software, and a new computer to offer improved Level 2 autonomous driving.
It is also one of the first production cars compatible with 5G and eSIM (virtual SIM card), which will allow it to receive system updates for the infotainment system, and in the medium term, Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities.
The BMW iX M60 is available for pre-order on BMW’s website, with deliveries starting in June 2022, at a starting price of 132,000 euros.
