Audi Q4 e-tron: Price, Details, and Range of the Electric SUV

The Q4 e-tron positions itself as a relatively affordable model in Audi’s electric lineup. Here is everything you need to know about the German compact SUV.

Launched in 2021, the Audi Q4 e-tron belongs to the family of models built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. This architecture, which is becoming quite widespread, has been used for example in the Volkswagen ID.3, ID.4, and ID.Buzz, as well as the Skoda Enyaq. Although it remains positioned in the premium market, this model is more affordable than the Q8 e-tron, which was the first chapter of Audi’s next-generation electric models.

Style and Dimensions of the Audi Q4 e-tron

Visually very classic, the Q4 e-tron inherits a full grille, a feature often present on electric vehicles. Audi has chosen to offer, in addition to the standard SUV silhouette, a Sportback version with a sharply sloping roofline. Slightly more aerodynamic, it improves driving range by a few kilometers.

At 4.59 meters long, the Q4 e-tron fits into the compact SUV market. It is a direct competitor to the Mercedes EQA and BMW iX1. In its Sportback configuration, the vehicle is neither shorter nor narrower. However, it loses a few centimeters in height.

The Q4 e-tron can comfortably seat 5 people. The trunk volume is 520 liters with the seats up (535 liters on the Sportback), and increases to 1,490 liters when the seats are folded down (1,460 on the Sportback). The angular dashboard features a central touchscreen oriented towards the driver. Digital gauges, now nearly essential on modern vehicles, are also present.

Engine and Performance

In terms of powertrains, Audi offers a choice among three power levels: 204, 265, and 295 horsepower. The first is named Q4 40 e-tron, while the other two are called Q4 45 e-tron quattro and Q4 50 e-tron quattro, respectively. In the 265 and 295 hp versions, the vehicle receives a second motor on the front axle, enabling all-wheel drive. Accelerations are quite brisk, with 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds for the 204 hp e-tron. The other versions cut this time by 2.3 seconds and also reach slightly higher top speeds (180 vs. 160 km/h).

Range and Charging

The entire lineup is equipped with a 77 kWh battery. The range logically varies depending on the vehicle’s power. Audi announces between 410 and 517 km (refer to the table at the end of the page for all ranges). Note that wheel size also impacts this factor.

On a fast charger, the Q4 e-tron accepts a maximum charging power of 135 kW. In theory, it can fully recharge in about thirty minutes. The vehicle is also equipped with an onboard charger for charging on public charge points or wall boxes. With a wall box delivering 11 kW, the charging time is estimated at 7.5 hours. If you use a simple domestic socket, expect more than 45 hours.

Pricing and Equipment

The starting price of the Audi Q4 e-tron is €53,000. The Sportback version, which is slightly more expensive, requires at least €55,000. In addition to the base model, which has no specific name, the Q4 e-tron lineup includes three other trims: Executive, S Line, and Design Luxe.

The base Q4 e-tron comes standard with 19-inch wheels, automatic climate control, a 40/60 folding rear seat, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, LED headlights, rear parking assist, and a traffic sign recognition system.

The Executive trim adds, among other features, a leather steering wheel with double spokes, electrically foldable exterior mirrors, a rearview camera, and a heads-up display with augmented reality. It also features a more advanced infotainment system (MMI Navigation Plus).

The S-Line trim gives the vehicle a more aggressive look and adds a sports chassis. It also includes an “Ambient Lighting” pack.

Finally, the Q4 e-Tron in the Design Luxe finish gains an electric tailgate, a higher-quality audio system, and Matrix LED headlights. The Audi Phone Box Light (wireless charging + easy phone connection to the car) is also included as standard equipment.
