Audi outperforms Tesla, but at what cost…

Tesla struck hard this morning by unveiling the 702 km range of its Model 3. But the Audi A6 is unlikely to be fazed.

Thanks to extensive work in computer-aided design and wind tunnel testing, the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron has become the most aerodynamic model in the history of the rings brand with a Cx of 0.21. This allows it to travel 750 kilometers without any recharge, all while providing very Germanic comfort. The new models indeed inherit the new Audi interior philosophy and are equipped with the Audi digital cockpit, featuring a panoramic display combined with an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch touchscreen. A third 10.9-inch display can be added for the front passenger. The materials have also been reworked for better quality, while ambient lighting subtly enhances the driver’s area at night. The Audi A6 e-tron family is also the first to offer a light signature at the rear that includes the illumination of the Audi rings.

Even better, thanks to its 800-volt technology and a maximum charging capacity of 270 kW, the A6 can recover a range of up to 310 kilometers in just ten minutes. The charge state goes from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes.

The Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance, equipped with a 100 kW battery and developing 270 kW outside of boost mode (367 hp), is available for order today at a price of 77,170 euros, which means more than 30,000 euros difference with the Tesla Model 3 Long Range. There will thus be no match as these two models are definitely not aimed at the same clientele.
