Abarth 500e: Two New Versions to Complete the Range

Building on the success of the “Scorpionissima” version last year, Abarth is making a strong comeback with two versions of its New Abarth 500e.

The cutest and fastest of small city cars returns with three new versions of its 500e, delighting collectors of the Italian brand. The new versions are called “New Abarth 500e, Pack and Turismo”.

Equipped with an electric motor of 155 hp (compared to 118 hp on the Fiat 500e) and a 42 kW battery, the small city car aims to impress with its new aesthetic updates and on-road performance.

The new versions complement the “Scorpionissima” model released last year and sold within a few weeks. However, note that the new Abarth 500e will be available in two body styles: sedan and convertible. The sedan body will offer all three versions, while the convertible will only be available with the “Pack” and “Turismo” versions.

What do these new revamps of the small 500e include?

First, let’s note the external changes to the vehicle. Following the innovations of the limited edition Scorpionissima, the New Abarth 500e features a front end that emphasizes the vehicle’s sportiness. A new dark gray “ABARTH” logo is displayed for easy reading and identification. The iconic badge of the brand, a scorpion on a red and yellow background, is now located on the car’s hood. The New Abarth 500e is distinguished from its thermal version by its new front bumper, which is more aerodynamic and aggressive, according to the manufacturer.

The Pack Version

The new versions of the 500e also include technological improvements. The Pack version, available on both sedan and convertible body styles, features new ergonomic elements for the driver. Here are some examples:

• Wireless smartphone charger;
• Keyless entry on the driver’s side & remote key;
• Heated exterior mirrors;
• Electric power windows on the front.

In addition, the new version boasts safety features such as a reverse camera, 360° parking sensors, blind spot detection, and automatic switching between high and low beams. However, these are not groundbreaking, as they are present on most modern vehicles (including the Renault Austral).

The Turismo Version

The Turismo version, the high-end of this New Abarth 500e, features Alcantara® material, a fabric from the racing world. Vehicle owners will feel comfortable inside, especially if you opt for the sound generator. Developed after over 6,000 hours of work, it produces the distinctive sound of Abarth electronically. It highlights the engine’s performance without greenhouse gas emissions.

An optional new sound system, developed in partnership with JBL, enhances comfort. It includes seven high-performance speakers arranged to optimize listening, including two treble speakers, two mid-range speakers, two full-range speakers in the rear doors, and a bass box in the trunk, along with a 8-channel amplifier. Perfect for setting the mood, especially with the Abarth sound simulation feature.

Summary

The New Abarth 500e stands out from its competitors with five unique colors: Acid Green, Poison Blue, Antidote White, Venom Black, and Adrenaline Red. Note that Acid Green is the free color option in the range.

In May 2023, you will be able to reserve your Italian city car at dealerships and online starting from €36,900 for the sedan version and €42,300 for the convertible (Pack version). This vehicle is eligible for ecological bonuses and trade-in incentives, but be careful not to exceed a total amount of €47,000 at purchase!
