Tesla Model 3 at the Price of a Peugeot e-208

We compared a LEA offer (Lease with Purchase Option) between a Tesla Model 3 and a Peugeot e-208. The result is revealing.

These are two very different vehicles, with Tesla being more powerful and offering a longer range than the Peugeot e-208 electric. But which is the better deal between the two offers? We looked into it! For this, we considered a Tesla Model 3 offered at a price of €274.57 per month and a Peugeot 208 at €277 per month.

Performance in favor of Tesla

In this battle for the most advantageous car, Tesla already scores a point with its power. It has a 208 kW (282 hp) engine compared to 100 kW (136 hp) for the Peugeot 208. Regarding range, Tesla wins again. 91 km more range for the Model 3 than for the 208.

On mileage points, who has the advantage?

We intentionally compared two vehicles with the same annual mileage of 10,000 km. The initial payment for the Tesla Model 3 is €9,250, with a monthly rent of €274.57 over 60 months. For the Peugeot e-208, the initial payment is €11,100, with a monthly rent of €276.08 over 36 months.

If we consider a 36-month lease for the Tesla Model 3, the rent would then be €313.53. Conversely, if we consider a 60-month lease for the Peugeot e-208, the rent would be €271.35.

To finish the calculations, you will pay €16,474.20 for a Tesla Model 3 over 60 months. For the 60-month lease of a Peugeot 208, you will pay €16,281, which is €190 less. Thus, for a 37-month lease of the Peugeot, the total will be €9,938, compared to €11,287.08 for a 36-month lease of the Model 3.

It is worth noting that the initial payment for Tesla is less than €1,850 compared to that of the Peugeot.

Recently, manufacturers have been advertising heavily discounted prices, whether Peugeot, Citroën, or Tesla. A boon for customers as they will see the prices of electric cars decrease gradually, thanks to the drop in raw material costs.
