€4,070 discount on a Tesla Model 3 with no effort!

Getting a 10% discount on a Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive with some interesting options is worth a small concession.

The technique to obtain such a discount on a Tesla is neither magic nor a scam. It concerns a specific category of cars, Demonstration Vehicles. In the case that interests us, it is a very beautiful Tesla Model 3 Metallic Deep Blue (+ €1,300) with a tow hitch (+ €1,350). So we have a car priced at €44,140 that benefits from a discount of €4,070 simply because it has covered 2,682 km to be showcased to customers or the press. While we might get irritated by a car advertised as new, at the new price, with 50 km on the clock, here we applaud with both hands.

As this is a demonstration vehicle, the manufacturer is obliged to restore the car to a totally new configuration before offering it for sale. This is why this car appears in the “new vehicles” section of the Tesla France website and not “used vehicles”. For proof, in the latter section there is a car that shows… 58 km! Fewer kilometers than our discounted Model 3, but it has exited the official Tesla perimeter and is therefore considered a used car. It’s not necessarily easy to grasp, but ultimately quite logical.

Why pay too much?

Our Tesla was registered on June 13, 2024, which poses absolutely no problem because it is not eligible for the ecological bonus. It is a 2024 model year, and that’s all that will matter at the time of resale. It is guaranteed until March 2028 / 80,000 km and even until March 2032 / 160,000 km for the motor and battery. Finally, it benefits from all the financing offers exclusive to new vehicles.

There are always great deals to be found if you take the trouble to dig a little into the lists of available vehicles from all manufacturers. A vehicle available is by definition a vehicle that is ready to go but hasn’t left the lot, and therefore clutters parking lots and weighs down cash flow. A cash purchase at the proposed price is never a good deal, except for a totally unique model. But recognize that this is not the most important thing when deciding to drive a Tesla rather than a BYD.
