Dacia makes a strong impression with an unbeatable offer: its Sandero Essential SCe 65 is listed at a catalog price of €11,990. A great deal!

Changing the game. That’s probably the mindset of Dacia‘s marketing team ahead of Black Friday and the year-end review. By lowering the price of its very solid Sandero, the Franco-Romanian manufacturer (owned by Renault) is making a powerful move. Its competitors include the Skoda Fabia, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, and Mitsubishi Colt. But they all admit to being nearly €3,000 more expensive. Not a small difference.

At €11,990, it’s impossible to find a better car in this segment and size. But let’s take a tour of the vehicle nonetheless.

ENGINE OPTIONS

In terms of price, the engine offer is limited: the small 3-cylinder 1.0-liter with 65 horsepower and 95 Nm of torque. It’s modest, but there’s no reason to complain. For daily commuting without consuming much fuel, it’s very relevant. The approved combined WLTP cycle consumption was 5.3 liters / 100 km.

EXTERIOR

Only one color is offered without extra charge, the very logical Glacier White. For blue, light gray, dark gray, and black, an additional €500 applies. Again, a reasonably priced option.

The 15-inch wheels are fitted with plastic hubcaps called Elma.

EQUIPMENT

Again, it’s important to keep things in perspective: we’re talking about a car costing less than €12,000. Therefore, the list of equipment is admittedly modest, but you can’t have everything.
