More than just a competition, the Goodwood Revival is a unique event that each year immerses visitors in a decidedly vintage atmosphere, recreating the era with unparalleled attention to detail. But what truly sets the Goodwood Revival apart is its ability to combine passion for vintage cars with ecological awareness.

Driven by the theme « Revive & Thrive », which can be translated as « Revive and Prosper » or « Reawaken and Flourish », the ecological message of the Goodwood Revival is seamlessly integrated into every aspect of the event. This slogan embodies a modern philosophy: revitalizing the old to make it sustainable. Classic cars carefully restored symbolize this alliance between the past and the future. Each vehicle is not only a testament to a bygone era but also proof that restoration and maintenance can reduce the need for new production, thereby limiting environmental impact.

In 2024, Goodwood Revival became the first classic motorsport event in the world to conduct all its races using sustainable fuels. This ambitious project, initiated in 2023 with a first race using sustainable fuel, culminated in 2024 with compulsory participation for all competitors in races using a fuel containing at least 70% advanced and sustainable components. These « drop-in » fuels require no modifications to the vehicles, proving their accessibility. In 2025, Goodwood continues to promote their adoption at all its major events.

This innovative effort was recognized with the Motorsport UK Environmental Sustainability Award, awarded during the annual « Night of Champions » celebration on January 25, 2025. The Duke of Richmond, founder of the Goodwood Revival, stated: « We are incredibly proud to have played a role in promoting sustainable fuels and contributing to securing a future for the sport we love so much. »

Beyond the circuits, the Goodwood Revival celebrates a sustainable lifestyle. Participants and visitors wear carefully preserved vintage outfits or second-hand clothing. This emphasis on craftsmanship and secondhand treasures highlights the beauty of the circular economy, where each object finds a new life instead of being discarded.

The Goodwood estate, spanning 11,000 acres, is managed to preserve and protect natural ecosystems for future generations. Through an innovative approach to the challenges of climate change, Goodwood offers an inspiring model where heritage preservation is combined with sustainability efforts, reaffirming the relevance of this unique automotive event worldwide.
