Autonomy: The Best Electric Cars Under €20,000 (May 2023)

With constant new arrivals, here is the ranking of electric cars offered under 20,000 euros, after bonuses are deducted, with the best ranges.

This article does not involve fraud, contrary to what your initial reaction might suggest. Despite the relentless arrival of new models on the market, today no manufacturer, even Asian, can offer a (genuine) car on the French market for less than 20,000 euros, after bonuses, other than Dacia and its Spring.

Top 1: Dacia Spring Essential

Priced at the catalog price of 20,800 euros, from which you can deduct 5,000 euros in state aid (or 7,000 euros if you are eligible for the super bonus), the small Romanian is unbeatable. At 15,800 euros, there are certainly cheaper thermal cars, but not electric ones that can stay within your energy budget. A quick investment that pays off when you know that a liter of unleaded 95 still hovers around 1.9 euros on average.

Ok, the range is very limited (230 km in WLTP cycle, about 150 km real-world), and power very limited, but the Dacia Spring is a coherent product considering its price.
