A Chinese SUV Skids on Ice!

Comment
Changan SUV

The Changan CS75 Plus SUV sets a Guinness World Record with a jump of 20.9 meters on an icy ramp.

When Chinese automobiles want to make headlines with their SUVs, they do not hold back. Changan has just entered its CS75 Plus into the Guinness World Records thanks to a rather spectacular performance: a jump of 20.9 meters between two ice ramps, executed at –30 °C. A feat that is as visual as it is symbolic for this next-generation thermal SUV.

The attempt took place in an extreme environment, where ice turns each acceleration into a balancing act. To ensure the vehicle’s stability, Changan highlighted its intelligent safety system Tianshu, which includes ESC (electronic stability control) and TCS (traction control system). The latter continuously monitors the wheel behavior to adjust traction in real time, even during a take-off on a frozen surface.

Gasoline and that’s it

Under the hood, the 4th generation Changan CS75 Plus remains true to thermal engines. The lineup starts with a 1.5 turbo producing 189 hp and 310 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic Aisin transmission, and extends to a 2.0 turbo generating 229 hp and 390 Nm, capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Solid figures for a family SUV.

Measuring 4.77 meters in length, the CS75 Plus also takes care of its interior. The driver faces a triple screen cockpit of 37 inches, integrating digital instrumentation, central display, and passenger display, all powered by voice artificial intelligence. On the practical side, the trunk offers up to 1,620 liters of volume once the seats are folded down.
