With only 72 registrations in France in August, the Alpine A390 struggles to take off, and its production in Dieppe is expected to be halved, according to local press.
The Alpine A390 was intended to broaden the brand’s customer base. Its commercial launch requires an initial industrial adjustment. According to Les Informations Dieppoises, cited by Numerama, the management of the Dieppe factory informed employees of a decrease in production rates: about fifteen cars per day, down from thirty currently. This reduction is expected to take place on September 28 or October 5.

In France, 72 Alpine A390s were registered during this month. How many Alpine A390 have been sold?
In the first half of 2026, Renault Group announced 1,041 registrations of the Alpine A390 GT worldwide. This limited volume contrasts with the 5,890 A290 sold during the same period. The electric city car thus carries the bulk of Alpine’s sales, which total 8,538 cars over these six months.
The A390 must convince in a demanding market. Priced from 67,500 euros for the GT and 78,000 euros for the GTS, it aims to convert new buyers to electric sportiness according to Alpine.
A GTS version delayed by battery issues
This launch must also be placed in its industrial context. According to L’Argus, production difficulties with Verkor batteries have delayed the commercialization of the A390 GTS. Orders opened in June, with initial deliveries expected in October.
The arrival of this version will allow for a better assessment of the model’s commercial potential. For Dieppe, the challenge is now concrete: to secure more orders to sustainably support the production of the electric crossover.
