France saves Tesla’s summer!

Powered by a spectacular rebound in France, Tesla shows strong July results despite mixed outcomes in Europe.

After several tumultuous months, Tesla continues to swing between highs and lows in the European market. The registrations for July 2026 perfectly illustrate this trend: the American brand is seeing strong growth in France and Denmark, but is experiencing a significant decline in several countries where it was once a benchmark.

The pleasant surprise comes from France. According to registration data provided by Reuters, Tesla reports an 86% increase compared to July 2025. Denmark also shows a strong trend with a 52% increase, confirming the sustained appetite of motorists for electric vehicles in the countries most favorable to this technology.

In contrast, the picture is much darker elsewhere. Norway, long considered Tesla’s paradise, sees a spectacular drop of 97% in registrations. Spain follows with a decline of 81%, then Italy (-77%), Portugal (-69%), and Sweden (-60%).

Electric vehicles in a good momentum

These mixed results occur in a context favorable to electric cars. In France, public subsidies continue to support sales, while countries like Denmark still benefit from a favorable tax environment and high fuel prices that make electric models more attractive.

However, this snapshot of July does not necessarily undermine Tesla’s momentum. The manufacturer has just reported a second quarter that exceeded analysts’ expectations and maintains a solid presence in several international markets, notably in China, Australia, and Switzerland.

Furthermore, monthly registrations can be heavily influenced by the delivery schedules of manufacturers. Tesla often concentrates its shipments during certain periods, so a particularly weak month does not always indicate a lasting decline in demand.
