The unbearable teasing of Tesla!

Let’s not kid ourselves: we’re exhausted. Will we ever see that much-anticipated and hoped-for Tesla Roadster?

For nearly nine years, Tesla has promised us the return of the Roadster. Nine years! At this rate, some fans have had time to change cars, jobs, or even their entire lives between the unveiling of the prototype in 2017 and the hypothetical arrival of the production model.

And yet… we continue to wait.

Because that’s the whole paradox of the Roadster. Each new delay provokes a mix of exasperated sighs and childlike excitement. A new date? We roll our eyes. A new promise from Elon Musk? We give a forced smile. But as soon as any rumor about its performance surfaces, we immediately dive back in.

The latest news? The official presentation, expected in the spring, would once again be postponed, this time to August, or even later. The event would take place in Texas and would notably serve to unveil the famous SpaceX package, this cold gas propulsion system meant to turn the Roadster into an unidentified rolling object.

Yes, we’re still talking about this car capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in the blink of an eye, boasting over 1,000 km of range, and, according to some of Musk’s statements, briefly taking off from the ground. Just that.

Unbearable teasing? Absolutely.

So of course, after an endless succession of delays, caution is warranted. As long as Tesla hasn’t sent out official invitations, it’s best to approach each new deadline with a healthy dose of skepticism.

But deep down, that’s also what it means to live in the Tesla era. Complaining about delays, mocking the constantly pushed-back promises… while compulsively monitoring social media in hopes of finally discovering this machine touted as revolutionary.

But let’s face it: the day this Roadster finally takes the stage, we will all be there.
