Here is the new Lancia Gamma!
With the Gamma, Lancia is renewing its premium offensive by betting on a large electrified crossover sedan developed on a well-known platform.
Lancia takes a new step in its rebirth with the presentation of the first official images of the new Gamma. Expected after the summer for the opening of orders, this large fastback crossover will become the new technological and stylistic flagship of the Italian brand.
Designed, drawn, and developed in Italy, the Gamma will be produced at Stellantis’s Melfi plant, one of the group’s most modern industrial sites. The manufacturer specifies that the first prototypes are already driving on open roads, a sign that the program is entering its final development phase.
Measuring 4.67 m in length, 1.89 m in width, and 1.66 m in height, the Gamma adopts a slender silhouette blending SUV cues and a fastback profile. And honestly, it’s rather successful. The identity is strong, the lines are elegant, a good point for this 21st-century Gamma. Lancia promises a model focused on efficiency, elegance, and comfort, in the purest Italian tradition.
A Stellantis Gamma
Technically, the Gamma relies on Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform. It shares its architecture with several strategic new models from the group, including the Peugeot 3008, Peugeot 5008, Opel Grandland, Citroën C5 Aircross, and the future Jeep Compass.
The range of engines is particularly broad. A 145 hp hybrid version claims over 1,000 km of range, while the electric offer will extend from a 230 hp variant with more than 540 km of range to a 245 hp version capable of exceeding 740 km. An all-wheel drive AWD variant of 375 hp is also planned, with up to 675 km announced.

With this Gamma, Lancia clearly intends to reposition its image in the European premium segment by focusing on design, technology, and efficiency. However, while this shared platform allows for reduced development and production costs, it also places the Gamma in direct competition with models that are already well-established in the market, starting with the best-sellers from Peugeot and Citroën. To succeed in its comeback, Lancia will therefore need to do much more than a simple styling exercise: the Italian brand must now rebuild a genuine image and regain a strong identity among European customers.
