The Mercedes EQS nears the 1,000 km range!
Mercedes launches the new EQS 450+ with a record WLTP range of 925 km, an increase of +13% compared to the previous generation.
The new Mercedes EQS is based on a deeply revamped electric platform: a usable 122 kWh battery (optimized chemistry with SiOx-graphite anodes), a two-speed transmission on the rear axle, internally developed electric motors, and aerodynamics maintained at a Cx of 0.20. The result: a combined WLTP consumption ranging between 15.4 and 19.3 kWh/100 km depending on the versions.
Thanks to the 800-volt architecture, the system accepts up to 350 kW in DC. Mercedes announces 320 km of WLTP range recovered in just 10 minutes. The regenerative power now reaches 385 kW (+33%). On a 400 V charger, the battery virtually splits to charge at 175 kW.
Steer-by-Wire: First German Series Production
Mercedes becomes the first German manufacturer to offer Steer-by-Wire in a production car. This steering system without a mechanical link provides unprecedented precision, eliminates road vibrations, allows for a flatter yoke steering wheel, and integrates steering of the rear wheels up to 10°. Agility and driving comfort significantly improve.
