The new Toyota Hilux enters the Zero Emission era
Toyota unveils the ninth generation of its Hilux, a true legend of the pickup truck, symbolizing robustness and reliability for over half a century.
This new chapter marks a historic milestone: for the first time, the Hilux is offered in a 100% electric version, ahead of a hydrogen model scheduled for 2028.

True to its “multi-technology” philosophy, Toyota does not rely on a single solution but on a complete offering, adapted to all uses and markets. Alongside the electric version, Western Europe will also welcome a 48V Hybrid Hilux, combining a 2.8-liter combustion engine with electric assistance for greater smoothness and efficiency, without sacrificing the legendary load and towing capacities (up to 3,500 kg).
Doing Better Than the Cybertruck
The 100% electric Hilux, the first of its kind, retains a ladder frame architecture and permanent all-wheel drive thanks to two eAxles. Its 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery powers a system delivering total torque exceeding 470 Nm, for about 240 km WLTP range. Able to ford the same water depth as its combustion counterpart, it promises identical off-road performance while ensuring zero local emissions.

Visually, the new Hilux draws inspiration from the Land Cruiser, featuring a more muscular design and specific aerodynamic treatment for the electric version. All variants now adopt a Double Cab body, an innovative electric power steering, and an enhanced Toyota T-Mate pack, including the latest active assist systems and remote updates.
Inside, the ambiance steps up in quality: redesigned dashboard, dual screens up to 12.3 inches, advanced connectivity, and services via the MyToyota app.
