Already a new Duster in 2026?

More than a year after the arrival of the new Duster on our roads, Renault announces it in India where it is a true legend.

The Duster is somewhat the chameleon SUV of the Renault group. In Europe, we know it under the Dacia badge, a symbol of common sense and value for money. But on the other side of the world, particularly in India, it has built a strong reputation under the Renault brand. And the diamond company has just announced its grand return to this strategic market.

Launched in 2012, the first Renault Duster literally created the SUV trend in India. Nearly 200,000 units later, it has established itself as a symbol of freedom and success for a whole generation of drivers. It’s no surprise then that Renault is once again betting on this legendary name to reclaim a country that has become the world’s third largest automotive market.

Duster, the proudly Franco-Romanian

The new Indian version of the Duster will be officially unveiled on January 26, 2026, and it fully fits into Renault’s “International Game Plan 2027.” Simply put, producing vehicles where they are sold, to better meet local expectations. A sensible approach from which Europe should take inspiration… The Chennai plant, in the south of the country, will thus be the new production hub, joining the brand’s other centers in Turkey, Morocco, and Latin America.

So there will be no new Dacia Duster in 2026, just the placement of a Renault badge on its grille for the Indian market. Behind this Renault, it is indeed the new generation Dacia Duster, already on our roads for more than a year, that is hiding. It will retain its Romanian DNA at heart, further proof that at Renault, they know how to recycle their successes… without ever losing common sense.
