Fisker Pear: The Electric Car Project Under $30,000 Progresses

The production of the Fisker Pear will begin in 2024.

Fisker is making numerous announcements. After unveiling its project for a convertible sedan, the American manufacturer is talking again about the Pear, a compact electric vehicle that will be produced by the Taiwanese giant Foxconn.

Fisker has just announced that its partner has finalized the acquisition of the factory where the Pear will be produced. The industrial complex in question is located in the United States, in Ohio. Foxconn bought it from Lordstown, a young American manufacturer facing serious financial difficulties.

Fisker and Foxconn aim to start production of the Pear in 2024. The two partners estimate that they will reach a rate of at least 250,000 units per year when the factory operates at full capacity. Concurrently, Foxconn will also produce Lordstown’s electric pickup truck at this site. This was part of the terms of the sale.

“A revolutionary vehicle”

Fisker took the opportunity of this announcement to give a new preview of the Pear (for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution). The image is accompanied by enthusiastic statements from Henrik Fisker, who does not hesitate to call it a “revolutionary vehicle.” The CEO and founder of the brand revealed that the Pear will feature innovative lighting, without providing further details. He also explained that the curved windshield is inspired by airplane cockpits’ glass, and will ensure optimal visibility.

The Pear will rest on a new platform. At 4.5 meters long, it will resemble a large compact. But for Henrik Fisker, it will be impossible to categorize it definitively.

In the United States, the Pear will cost $29,900 in the base configuration, which is slightly over €28,000. This model will also be sold in Europe. Fisker is already accepting reservations on its website. Interested individuals are invited to pay a deposit of $250.
