World Auto 2022: Renault 4EVER Trophy

This is the star model of this 2022 edition. The Renault 4EVER Trophy previews the successor to the Renault Twingo E-Tech. First information.

Do you regret that electric cars are too expensive? Aside from a few exceptions like the Dacia Spring and the Leapmotor T03 which manage to drop below €20,000 after incentives, few “eco-friendly” models are still offered at affordable prices. Renault’s goal is to offer a “popular” electric car, capable of replacing the Renault Twingo E-Tech in the long term.

Awaiting the planned production model set for 2024, the Losange company unveils a concept car called Renault 4EVER TROPHY, which outlines the main features of the future model but in an original adventure-style variant.

Measuring 4.16 meters long and 1.95 meters wide, the Renault 4EVER TROPHY pays homage to the cars of the 4L Trophy, a humanitarian-themed race. This explains its raised ground clearance and its enormous 255/55 R19 wheels. However, beware of underground parking, with a height limit of 1.90 meters!

A Known Motor?

The upcoming production model will share its CMF-BEV technical platform with other B-segment models, including the future Renault 5. Currently, technical details are not fully known, but it is rumored that the electric motor will develop 100 kW (136 hp), while the battery capacity would be 42 kWh. This is more than sufficient for urban and peri-urban use.

Good news for jobs in France, the future Renault 4L will be built within the country, specifically at the Maubeuge factory. This could allow it to benefit from the extension of the ecological bonus, if it is only awarded to brands producing their cars in Europe. Remaining to know is the price of the future model, which we hope will be as affordable as possible!
