Vinfast: Launch with 4 New Models at the 2022 Paris Motor Show

The new Vinfast manufacturer marks the launch of large electric SUVs, and displays two smaller VF6 and VF7 at the 2022 Auto Show.
Beyond the French groups Stellantis and Renault, it is the Asians who made their mark at this 2022 edition of the Auto Show. In Paris, Vinfast was one of the manufacturers present, with no less than 4 new models.
Official debut of the Vinfast VF8 and VF9
Presented for over a year now, and having changed name in the meantime, the large SUVs have arrived in Europe. These are the first two models from the Vietnamese brand, with a length of 4.75 meters for the VF8, and 5.12 meters for the VF9 with 7 seats. Fully electric rear-wheel drive, these models aim to compete with the Tesla Model Y and Audi e-tron.
But their thing is a triple offer: purchase, purchase with battery rental, and full leasing like LLD. With the second option, the price of the Vinfast VF8 would start at €43,050 excluding bonuses, adding the battery at €120/month. Already available for pre-order, the electric SUVs will be delivered starting in 2023.
France is currently among the top three markets for Vinfast, along with Germany and the Netherlands. Sales will be direct through “Vinfast Stores,” with 20 sites planned in France by the end of 2023.

First look at the Vinfast VF6 and VF7
A small surprise at the stand, visitors could approach the two younger siblings. Previously seen earlier this year during the manufacturer’s big development plan, they confirm their launch in France in 2023. Their design is less bulky and features a modern “V” illuminated signature at the front. The interior also appears more appealing.

The Vinfast VF6 is roughly the size of a Peugeot e-2008, around 4.30 meters. Its prices could be aggressive, below €30,000 excluding bonuses, to compete with the MG ZS EV. As for the Vinfast VF7, a family SUV about 4.50 meters long, it will rival a BYD Atto 3, between €35,000 and €40,000.
And… Vinfast electric scooters?
Also surprising at the Vinfast stand. No fewer than 5 electric scooters were displayed in a circle, seemingly inviting the public to test them. Each has its own name and a rather conventional style. With top speeds ranging from 45 to 98 km/h, they boast impressive autonomy:
- Klara S: 45 km/h, 198 km
- EVO200 Lite: 70 km/h, 203 km
- Feliz S: 79 km/h, 198 km
- Vento S: 89 km/h, 160 km
- Theon S: 99 km/h, 150 km

These electric two-wheelers from Vinfast currently only exist in Vietnam. But the brand has already told us that they will very likely arrive in France.
