BYD Atto 3: What is the price in France?

Act 3 focuses on a competitive price to find its place in the compact electric SUV segment.

The Paris Auto Show seems to mark the beginning of a major Chinese push in France and more generally in Europe. The new models from the Middle Kingdom indeed occupy an important space in venues neglected by many traditional manufacturers.

Meanwhile, BYD (Build Your Dreams) has a large booth displaying several vehicles. The model with the greatest commercial potential appears to be the Atto 3, an electric SUV comparable in size to a Peugeot 3008.

A cheaper BYD Atto 3 than its competitors

BYD announced the price of the Atto 3 in Germany, but not in France. However, we were able to obtain the information by visiting the brand’s new showroom located on Boulevard de Sébastopol in Paris.

Verdict: the Atto 3 will be sold starting at €43,690. It will come standard with a panoramic sunroof, full LED headlights, faux leather upholstery, and heated front seats. For comparison, the Kia e-Niro starts at €44,490. The Volvo XC40 Recharge, meanwhile, costs €43,950 in its basic configuration.

With a price under €47,000, the BYD Atto 3 is eligible for the national bonus of €6,000. However, this situation could soon change, as France is considering removing subsidies for cars manufactured in China. The issue has not been definitively decided yet, but the debate is ongoing.

The BYD Atto 3 is equipped with a 60 kWh battery, which theoretically guarantees a range of 420 km (WLTP mixed cycle). Connected to the rear wheels, the electric motor delivers 150 kW, or about 204 hp. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 7.3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 160 km/h.
