Rider launches a new electric motorcycle

Rider, the brand of the French dealer Go2roues, expands its catalog with a new electric motorcycle offered in 2 versions.

Rider announced a few days ago the arrival of a new electric motorcycle, the SR. This model will be available in two more or less powerful versions, the SR6 and SR8. It stands out from the rest of the Rider range, which until now only included electric scooters.

Although it is the most modest in the family, the SR6 already offers interesting performance for an approved electric bike in the 125 cc equivalent category. With its 5 kW (6 kW peak) motor integrated directly into the rear wheel, it can reach a top speed of 120 km/h.

The non-removable battery has a capacity of 6.2 kWh. It can be charged either on a standard household socket or via a wallbox-type installation using a Type 2 connector. Charging takes about 9 hours with the first option and 5 hours with the second. As for range, Rider claims 100 km in mixed cycle and up to 140 km in urban riding.

The SR8, meanwhile, retains the hub motor concept but increases its power to 8 kW (and even 11 kW peak). It reaches a maximum speed of 150 km/h. Despite the performance gain, the range of this version does not decrease. On the contrary, it extends to 120 km in mixed cycle and 160 km in city riding, thanks to a slightly larger battery (7.2 kWh). This fixed battery charges in 10 hours on a household socket and 6 hours on a wallbox.

Over €9,000 for Rider SR8

Both models are equipped with standard ABS, and the new Rider motorcycles are priced quite reasonably. Expect €7,190 for the SR6, and €9,249 for the SR8, before a €900 bonus. Orders are already open.

Go2roues and Rider are indeed French brands, but their products are directly imported from China. Conversely, these new electric motorcycles seemingly follow the same pattern.
