Apple Plans: Charging Station Option Coming Soon!

We talked about the new “Plans” feature with the bike option. Another option exists in this same application: the presence of charging stations for electric cars. 

This week, Apple unveiled the new features of iOS 17. Many functionalities will be introduced in September, but one particularly important for you, an electric car driver, will stand out. 

An Charging Station Option 

As mentioned above, the “Plans” app will have many options, some of which have already appeared. In September, a feature exclusive to electric vehicle users will be introduced. It involves the presence of the electric charging stations for electric cars. Even more impressively, not only will the charging stations be displayed, but their availability will update in real-time. This option coincides with an increase in the number of charging stations.

Similar to the bike category, options are available to choose whether you want to pass through hills or not. For cars, the same applies. An option will be offered to you whether or not you want to see electric charging stations along your route. 

The option also adapts to your vehicle type. Not all cars have the same charging port or connector.

The charging station option is already available for other cars

Tesla, perhaps the most well-known electric vehicle brand globally, has developed its own charging station visualization mode. Tesla’s charging stations are spread out across various locations and are integrated into the vehicle’s navigation system.

This feature is currently in beta but will be available upon the release of iOS 17 in September.
