Only skeptics believed that electric vehicles wouldn’t come with a dizzyingly low price. MG proves them wrong once again with a fully equipped 4-door GTI at an unbeatable price. The price is, of course, subsidized by the government—still for how long?—up to €5,000, but still unbeatable: €35,490. This aid can even be increased to €7,000 if you scrap an old polluting thermal car, bringing the price down to €33,490. In other words, it’s barely more than a Renault Megane EV40 with a small battery and only 130 horsepower on the front wheels…
Because with 435 horsepower and all-wheel drive, the MG4 XPOWER offers what, on the current thermal market, is heavily taxed by the environmental bonus at nearly €50,000 or €60,000. Even worse, the performance (apart from the range) is much better with a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds.
