MG Cyberster

MG will debut for the first time at the Munich Motor Show its first two-seater electric roadster, the Cyberster.

Barely returned from the Goodwood Festival of Speed where it made its first public drives, the Cyberster will be one of the flagship exhibits at MG’s stand during the Munich show. As the company begins its centennial celebrations, the Cyberster marks the return of sporty roadsters to MG’s lineup. A rebirth focused on the future with a modern design driven by an entirely electric powertrain.

With a length of 4.53 meters and a width of 1.91 meters, the Cyberster falls into the category of large, robust roadsters, far from the dainty Mazda MX-5, which it surpasses by more than 60 cm! In terms of weight, we are again in a different category with a curb weight of 1,850 kg, nearly double that of the small Japanese car. A necessary evil when one aims today to compete in the world of 100% electric vehicles.

MG announces two powertrains to propel the beast. One offering 310 hp exclusively to the rear wheels, and a diabolical version producing 536 hp with two motors and all-wheel drive. The latter would be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. Provided, of course, that the power can be effectively transmitted to the ground!

Join us at  IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich from September 5 to 10, 2023 for more information about the vehicle that aims to connect MG’s British past with its rebirth under Chinese ownership.
