Lexus Walks the Red Carpet at the Venice Biennale

For the 7th year in a row, Lexus is the Official Car of the Venice International Film Festival, the Biennale di Venezia.

The 80th edition of the festival takes place at the Lido of Venice from August 30 to September 9. Cinema and automobiles have traveled hand in hand throughout history, so it’s no surprise to see major manufacturers associated with the biggest festivals. The silver screen and dark theaters offer nearly unlimited possibilities to showcase beautiful machines. James Bond would agree.

Official Festival Car for the seventh consecutive year, Lexus highlights the LBX, its brand new compact crossover. The LBX is nothing more than the premium cousin of the Toyota Yaris Cross dressed in a three-piece suit. To date, it offers only a hybrid powertrain powered by a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine delivering 136 hp, skillfully electrified. A very urban mechanical that is likely to appeal to European customers.

Electrified vehicles from the Lexus lineup with drivers ensure transportation for filmmakers, actors, and VIPs throughout the festival. Among those expected on the red carpet are actors Zendaya (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Mike Faist (West Side Story), Josh O’Connor (The Crown), and Caroline Murino (Casino Royale).

The all-new LBX, the smallest Lexus segment to date, is a strategic model for the luxury brand of the Toyota group aiming to establish its place in one of the most competitive markets. The LBX indeed breaks away from the luxury car sector, Lexus’s usual playground. An opportunity for the Japanese manufacturer to shine under the European spotlight.
