Volvo EX30

Mini but maxi ambitions for Volvo’s small electric SUV, Sino-Finnish in origin.

The new Volvo EX30 is the brand’s first compact premium SUV. It expands a 100% electric lineup that already includes four models. Its pricing is smart, because at 37,500 euros in France, it offers loyal customers a fully electric SUV at a price close to that of a combustion engine SUV of similar size.

Volvo’s stylistic markers are clearly present with a long wheelbase and large wheels paired with the distinctive, bulky grille of the Swedish original brand, now under Chinese ownership since its acquisition by Geely.

EX30 for cities and EX30 for the roads

The EX30 offers three motor options and two types of batteries. For those who spend most of their time in the city or tend to travel shorter distances, Volvo offers a Single version, single-motor with a standard lithium iron phosphate battery, which is more economical and less resource-intensive to produce.

The Single Extended Range version features a NMC lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery that provides an extended range of up to 480 km WLTP between charges.

Finally, if performance is a priority, the Twin Performance version combines the NMC battery with an additional electric motor. This all-wheel-drive version delivers a power of 315 kW (428 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. It’s simply Volvo’s most rapid acceleration ever. This magic is made possible by its electric mechanical setup with immediately available torque.

Volvo takes care of your parking needs

A mostly non-revolutionary interior with a minimalist cabin finished to exemplary standards. A welcoming driver’s station and a well-sized digital display. It’s classic, sober… very Swedish and faithful to what one expects from a Volvo. For those resistant to parking in tight spots, the new Park Pilot Assist will identify available parking spaces around the car. Once the desired spot is selected via the new 3D user interface, the system will operate the accelerator, brake, and steering. While the driver supervises the parking maneuver, the screen displays the distance to objects such as cars, walls, and barriers.

Next year, the Volvo EX30 will also become available in its small off-road version Cross Country. It will feature higher ground clearance and 19-inch black rims.
